We went on a fantastic trip with Dubai Tourism @mydubai to Hatta, which is just a 2 hour ride away and borders Oman.
Its a far cry from the bright lights and 100mph lifestyle of Dubai.
We stayed at the JA HattaFort Hotel which is set just outside of Hatta itself a super quite area nestled into the rocks. The rooms are really nice and feel like little chalets with some cracking views of the mountains from the balcony.
Activities to get on to are:
Climbing the Hatta Park Fort - Its in the middle of Hatta and was originally a park for residents of a certain area until they opened it to the public. Once you walk to the top of the hill and then the fort there is a fatastic view of the surrounding area.
Visiting Heritage Village is a rebuilt area of Hatta that replicates how the local people lives a few hundred years ago.
Going kayaking in Hatta Damn with cracking views and many picture opportunities, don't fall in as you are not allowed to swim in this clean protected water.
Visiting the largest painting in the world at Hatta Damn, its a Guinness world record holder of the founding fathers of the UAE.
Mountain biking in the mountains, there are trails of varying abilities and "fear factors" thoroughly fun and exciting it you have an endorphin addiction.
