Literally sitting on the sand 20 meters below the water watching Manta Rays dance together was almost a meditative experience!
If you are a keen Scuba diver Maldives has probably been on your radar for a couple of dives during a lazy 5 night retreat. However if you really want to experience diving heaven you have to live on a yacht and dive three times per day.
We stayed on the Ritrella the longest yacht in the Maldives. The cabins were very clean, the food was fresh and tasty (especially the freshly caught fish) and the decks were a great place to hang out between dives. The crew were very friendly and accommodating and the dive instructors professional yet personal.
Dives take place at around 6.30am, 11am and 3 or 4pm our locations where diverse combining wrecks, atolls and caves.
The wildlife we witness close up was insane, to rival the best places.
